Thank you for visiting the online home of the Collins Presbyterian Church. We are a small, but welcoming, Reformed church located in the small town of Collins, Mississippi. That puts us right between Jackson and Hattiesburg, in the south central part of the state.
If you are looking for the perfect church, you will want to look elsewhere. We have no perfect Christians, but we do preach a perfect Savior! We read in the Bible about the Jesus who saves perfectly by his life, death, and resurrection. We also read about the powerful Jesus, who not only calls people to salvation in a general way, but also perfectly calls individual sinners to repentance and faith. And then this same Jesus perfectly keeps those people all the way to eternal life.
All of this the perfect Jesus does through the most ordinary, but perfect ways: the reading and preaching of the Word of God, the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and prayer. Ordinary means of providing extraordinary and perfect grace!
Perhaps you will come and join us? We would love to see you. Here’s our regular weekly schedule:
- Sunday School (10:00 AM)
- Sunday Morning Worship (11:00 AM)
- Sunday Evening Worship (6:00 PM)
- Wednesday Prayer Service (10:00 AM)
The Lord’s Supper is administered at least four times a year. Baptismal services are held as needed.
We are a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America and hold to the historic Westminster Confession of Faith and its attendant catechisms as teaching the system of doctrine found in the Bible. For a fuller explanation of what we believe and how our church is organized, please go to denominational website.
Tommy Shields has served us as pastor since 1995. We have two ruling elders: Danny Bryant and Ronnie Eaves.
