Organized in 1900, the Collins Presbyterian Church has now maintained a Reformed witness in Covington County, Mississippi, for well over a century. During that time ministers and members have come and gone, our denominational affiliation has changed, and we have undergone some building changes, but the message of the Gospel has gone forth Sunday after Sunday down through the decades.

The Collins Presbyterian Church is a charter congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America, a denomination founded in 1973, which seeks to be true to the Scriptures as the Word of God, faithful to the historic creeds of the Reformed churches as containing the system of doctrine taught in the Bible, and always obedient to our Lord’s Great Commission to make disciples from all the nations.

Our pastor is Teaching Elder John Thomas Shields. Tommy has been in Collins since 1995. He is a native of Moss Point, MS, and previously pastored churches in Mississippi and Illinois. Danny Bryant, Ronnie Eaves, and Carlton McRaney are Ruling Elders who, with the Pastor, constitute the Session.
